This Privacy Policy concerns personal data that is processed and used by AD through the use of AD products and services, both online and offline.
In order to rent a vehicle or provide other services, AD needs to collect your personal data. AD collects personal data when it is provided to it, for example by telephone, fax, postal mail, e-mail, at the rental counter when completing an application or registration form.
The purposes for which AD uses this data are detailed below in this Privacy Policy. There are several legal grounds under data protection law which allow DonatiRent to use your personal data for these purposes, and in particular: (1) that you have given AD your consent to use your personal data for this purpose (for example, when you have given AD your consent to send you marketing communications electronically); (2) that AD needs to use such personal data in order to fulfill its contract for the supply of products and services; (3) that the processing is necessary for AD's legitimate interests, provided they are balanced with your rights and interests; and (4) when AD is required to comply with a legal obligation (for example, to respond to government or law enforcement requests for information).

RENT A VEHICLE
When you make a reservation, rent a vehicle from AD, the data that AD collects includes:

first name;

e-mail address (if you book online);

residential address (for driving license validation and billing);

telephone numbers on which AD can contact you;

date of birth (for the validation of the driving license and for legal obligations);

gender (for license validation)

payment information such as credit or debit card details (the security code is acquired only for the transaction – AD does not keep it);

tax code (if specifically requested);

information extracted from the driving license and/or other identity documents issued by the administration, even if you are an additional driver for the single rental in question (for license validation and legal obligations);

data extracted from another type of identification document, such as a passport or national identity card, if your driving license does not contain a photo or the photo does not allow for your recognition and/or proof of residence, such as a bill (for security and anti-fraud reasons). The data we collect and store will include your ID photo only if you are aware of it;

special requests and preferences, including:

your preferences regarding optional extras, such as damage reduction/elimination deductibles and other protections;

where a delivery or collection service is available, the delivery or collection address of the vehicle and any required optional extras; And

other information that may be necessary to rent a vehicle to you and/or provide you with services.
If you inform AD that you have a physical disability that requires a modified vehicle or other type of driving assistance, AD will use this data to provide you with the requested service and if you have given your explicit consent to the use of such data.
During the rental AD will collect data on the place, date and time you rented the vehicle, place and date and time you returned the vehicle, insurance choices, fuel consumption, mileage, data about any claims and other data relating to the vehicle and its use. Such data is necessary to provide you with the services you have requested in the rental agreement or for AD's legitimate business interests (e.g. to control the use of AD's vehicle fleet).
If you are the victim of an accident, or suffer any loss, theft or damage to the vehicle during your rental or suffer mechanical breakdowns, AD will collect accident data including your accident report and police or third party report, including details of those involved, together with the nature of any personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle, and optional extras. AD will use this data to fulfill the contract with you (for example, the vehicle rental agreement and/or the conditions of any optional extras such as insurance), for AD's legitimate business interests (for example, in recovering the costs of any losses or damage caused to the vehicle), to fulfill any legal obligation of AD (for example, to make any mandatory reports of the accident to the competent authorities), and to initiate, exercise or present defenses in legal actions arising from such an accident.
AD will also collect data on any fines for speeding, no parking, tolls or other infringements related to road traffic issued against you or any infringements of the highway code committed by you during the rental, if the police provide such data to AD. AD will use this data to manage such contravention or violations under the conditions of the vehicle rental agreement with AD.
In addition to the purposes listed above, AD uses this data to better understand the needs of its customers and provide you with the related offers.
Some vehicles are equipped with a global positioning system (GPS) or similar location tracking device which may also collect data about the vehicle.
VEHICLE DATA
Some vehicles rented by you from AD have been manufactured or equipped with on-board devices to be connected to the Internet (connected car) which allow AD to send commands and receive certain information from the vehicle, including geolocation data from a global positioning (GPS). If you rent a connected car from AD, your personal data will be processed in accordance with this Policy and the Connected Car Privacy Addendum contained in the General Rental Conditions (or any other connected car information that AD provides to you will provide in the future).
ONLINE DATA
When you use the website, AD automatically collects technical data. This paragraph explains the technical data that AD collects and why it collects it.
IP addresses and other data collected automatically: AD may collect your IP address when you visit its websites in order to allow it to detect malfunctions of its main computers, for system administration, to report aggregate data to its business partners and to monitor the use of its website.
Session Replay: When you visit the AD website, sometimes AD will also record data about your browsing session on the site, including the pages you visit and any forms on the website you have completed. AD analyzes this data to identify any technical problems in the functioning of its sites and to improve the user interface.
